Speed Up BitTorrent
1. Install µTorrent
For speed up BitTorrent Download and Install the µTorrent client first. It is the most popular Torrent client in the world.
2. Configure preference option
Go to preference option inside Torrent client . With the preference option you will be able to configure the Torrent according to your needs. Choose Options then select Preferences as given in the image.
3. Enable UPnP
UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play. It is a network protocol which allows network devices to discover each other in the network, this enable network devices to share data with each other very easily. This is what UPnP does. Under Preferences option select Connection and check the selection Enable UPnP port mapping and press the button Apply. Enabling PUnP will automatically open the required ports to make connections.
4. Set Uploading speed
Uploading is as much important as Downloading in Torrent. When your downloading gets finshed then you let your downloaded file seeds for some time. This is the reason why torrent gives you so much of download speed. Seeded files are readily available for upload for the other users who want to download the file. So Uploading speed is also very important. But If your files will get uploaded at the maximum speed in the Torrent then there is a chance that you are compromising with your overall internet speed, this will led to low download speed in Torrent. You can always configure your uploading speed in Torrent to maximize the performance of Downloading. Go to Bandwidth option and set the Maximum upload rate to 80% to 85% of the toatal upload rate. Your downloaded rate must be set to '0'.
It will help to speed up BitTorrent.
5. Limit your connections
Certainly you have to limit the users who would be allowed to connect to you if you want to increase your downloading speed in Torrent. Go to your Bandwidth section and come to Number of Connections section and set the field Global maximum number of connections to 170, Maximum number of connected peers per torrent to 100, Number of upload slots per torrent to 3. This settings will maximize the torrent speed. Please look the image below.
6. Allow the Torrent from your Windows Firewall
Go to your Control Panel search for Windows Firewall and click on it. On the left hand side of the Window click on the option Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.You will come up with the following Window page.
Check the µTorrent selection for both Private and Public both. Then click OK.
7. Enable the Protocol Encryption
Some of the ISP (Interner Service Provider) restricts BitTorrent on the network. By enabling the Protocol Encryption you will be able to disguise the BitTorrent for those ISP providers which restricts Torrent.
8. The more the seeder the more the download speed
Yes, download from the file which has the maximum number of seeders. It will give you the maximum downloading speed.
